Take a dive into the Wood County Society’s Adapted Aquatics Program!

Wood County Society is proud to offer Adapted Aquatics in collaboration with the Wood County Department of Education and Martin Elementary School.

The Adapted Aquatics Program is scheduled yearly from September – May at Martin Elementary in Parkersburg, WV.

Participants can enjoy water aerobics using varied equipment to allow for overall health and wellness. Enjoy timed exercises, and encouragement through peer support while becoming a healthier you!

Martin Elementary School has a great pool with a water temperature averaging 86-90 degrees. The entrance to the pool area and locker rooms are accessible for all individuals with different abilities.

Weekly Aquatics Schedule (September through May)

Tuesdays
4:00 - 4:45 p.m. and 5:00 - 5:45 p.m.

Thursdays
4:00 - 4:45 p.m.
5:00 - 5:45 p.m. (small children only - parents must accompany children in the water)
6:00 - 6:45 p.m. (older children and adults)

Circle 21 - Down Syndrome Support Swmming Lessons.

Wood County Society is proud to offer swimming lessons for youth born with Down Syndrome and youth diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder. Swimming Lessons are available for youth 3-6 years of age. Limited availability and will be on a first-come, first-served basis with registration.
