The Wood County Society provides programs to meet the challenging needs of individuals with development and physical disabilities in our communities vastly improving the lives of people all of us know and care about.
The Wood County Society is proud to have the “Celebration for Kids” Telethon each year. The “Celebration for Kids Telethon, is the Wood County Society’s only fiscal fundraiser. The Wood County Society “Celebration for Kids” Telethon is an opportunity for the community to support all of the Wood County Society programs, education and advocacy work. The mission of the Wood County Society would not be possible without the generous support from individuals and corporate sponsors throughout the Mid-Ohio Valley because together – WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE! In making a difference, individual and corporate sponsors can see their donations make an impact all year long – because what you graciously give stays here locally.
During the Wood County Society Telethon Season, everyone gets involved. Area schools participate in the Wood County Society Annual Hat Day! Participants from the 2017 Hat Day include: Blennerhassett Elementary, Fairplains Elementary, Franklin Center, Jefferson Elementary, Kanawha Elementary, Lubeck Elementary, Madison Elementary, Martin Elementary, Mineral Wells Elementary, Neale Elementary, Ravenswood Elementary, Vienna Elementary, Waverly Elementary, Williamstown Elementary, and Worthington Elementary! We give HATS OFF! to all participating schools in supporting our mission while having fun!
Having a long standing history and collaboration, the “Celebration for Kids” Telethon is hosted by the Blennerhasset Hotel in beautiful downtown Parkersburg, West Virginia and is televised by WTAP News both locally and online.
