The Wood County Society is honored to present the Whitaker-Minard Scholarship each year. The Whitaker-Minard Scholarship was established to honor the dedication, passion and commitment of two distinguished individuals – Dr. Charles Whitaker Jr. and Mr. Tony Minard and their work for youth and adults with developmental and physical disabilities. Their work can be seen today in many of our programs as well as our Annual “Celebration for Kids” Telethon.
The Whitaker-Minard Scholarship is a non-renewable scholarship that is made available through the Parkersburg Area Community Foundation. Prospective recipients include high school and or undergraduate students pursuing higher education in any chosen field with concentration in assisting youth and adults with developmental and physical disabilities.
