Austism Connection
Advocacy, education, and programming for youth and adults with autism.
The Autism Connection Program provides support, learning, and socialization opportunities to youth and adults with autism spectrum disorder.
Individual services and programming include behavioral therapy, occupational therapy, physical therapy, speech therapy, advocacy, educational resources, and seminars for parents, educators, and medical and mental health professionals.
The Autism Connection includes:
Education: Educational seminars are held to assist youth, families, healthcare professionals, and mental health professionals understand Autism Spectrum Disorder.
Programming: Services such as Speech Therapy, Behavioral Therapy, Occupational Therapy, and Physical Therapy to assist youth and adults in development and growth.
Advocacy: Autism Advocacy to allow for the education and services to grow within the Mid-Ohio Valley. Autism Advocacy will allow the formation of community support, familial support, and events that will bring the Autism Community together.
Sensory Therapy: The Autism Connection Program provides Sensory Therapy in our newly established Sensory Room located at Wood County Society.
Sensory Camp: Youth enjoy a three-day camp providing sensory intervention, physical therapy, occupational therapy, social groups, and art in the form of therapy in collaboration with the Artbeat Studio!
Social Groups: Social Groups are scheduled monthly to assist youth diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder to build skills in healthy relationship(s), fine and gross motor skill enhancement as well as sensory processing.
Direct Care: Through collaboration, direct and individualized treatment plans for youth and families are established. Through a one-on-one approach, we maximize skills while celebrating the uniqueness of each individual who participates. (This option is only available to West Virginia Residents).

Wood County Society is proud to provide respite care services from 3:30 PM-9:00 PM at Wood County Society. Dates. Registration is required. Linda Lawson – Program Director for Wood County Society will provide follow-up information once registration is complete.
