Mission Statement

Wood County Society is igniting a social movement in our community by empowering individuals to unite and solve complex situations that impact us all – one program, initiative, and resource at a time.

The core value of our mission is to ensure all communities are united throughout the Mid-Ohio Valley so that individuals with intellectual and developmental differences are recognized for their abilities! Wood County Society meets the therapeutic, educational, and respite care needs of all individuals with intellectual and developmental differences  through:

Accessibility – because having equal opportunity and access to resources is a human right.

Abundance – everyone should experience joy, satisfaction, and fulfillment.

Inclusion – life’s best experiences should be available to everyone.

Compassion – is the most powerful source of change in our world.

We provide programs and resources to individuals with intellectual and developmental differences throughout the Mid-Ohio Valley, including the following counties:

West Virginia – Wood, Jackson, Roane, Ritchie, Wirt, Calhoun, Tyler, Mason, and Pleasants Counties.
