Camp ECHO, one of the Wood County Society’s most extensive respite care programs, started in the early 1970s as a respite program for youth and adults with intellectual and developmental differences. As Camp ECHO grew and developed as a viable program for the Wood County Society, the program was moved from the Girl Scout Camp in Sandy Bend and is now hosted by Cedar Lakes Conference Center in Ripley, West Virginia. Camp ECHO provides over 14,000 collective respite care hours annually for our families and clients.
