About Wood County Society

Our Passion to Serve

Brandon Gress, the WCS Director

Brandon Gress, M.A, Executive Director

For over 65 years,  Wood County Society has had the unique ability to provide hope, compassion, inclusion, and accessibility through many different programs and resources.  It is my aspiration to continue to build upon our mission throughout the Mid-Ohio Valley Region so that you can have access to important resources that will impact you and your family today, tomorrow, and in the future.

It is imperative that as a community that we continue to commit ourselves not only as an organization but as individuals to meet the needs of the community in which we humbly and proudly serve.

That is my commitment to you – to rise up through grassroots movements to continue to build firm foundations for all individuals to explore, and to provide unique opportunities for you and your loved ones to live your best life.

Hope is not a one-man-band – we must stand together, inspire each other and provide for one another.  Most importantly – persevere with determination that we are united to ensure all individuals are recognized for their abilities!

Let us take this journey together; because together we can build a more diverse, equitable, and inclusive community!

RISING UP for all individuals with disabilities throughout the Mid-Ohio Valley Region

Wood County Society is igniting a social movement in our community by empowering individuals to unite and solve complex situations that impact us all - one program, initiative, and resource at a time.

We believe the core value of our mission is to promote unification among all communities throughout the Mid-Ohio Valley so that individuals with disabilities are recognized for their abilities!

Wood County Society meets the therapeutic, educational, and respite care needs of all individuals with disabilities through:

  • Accessibility - because having equal opportunity and access to resources is a human right.

  • Abundance - everyone should experience joy, satisfaction, and fulfillment.

  • Inclusion - life's best experiences should be available to everyone.

  • Compassion - is the most powerful source of change in our world.

We provide programs and resources to individuals with disabilities throughout the Mid-Ohio Valley including the following counties:
West Virginia - Wood, Jackson, Roane, Ritchie, Wirt, Calhoun, Tyler, Mason and Pleasants Counties.

Ohio - Washington, Athens, and Meigs Counties.
