Just because school’s out doesn’t mean your child has to fall behind or lose those awesome speech skills!

The Summer Speech program is a crucial and beneficial program that gives children the ability to retain any and all skills learned throughout the school year.

The Summer Speech program builds upon the success the child has learned and enables the child to grow and add new skills by utilizing enhanced interventions.

The Wood County Society Summer Speech Program is available to any student referred from their school in the Wood County school district and offered at no charge.

To be considered, students with moderate or severe speech/language disorders who need therapy during the summer to maintain or increase skills they have acquired in Speech Therapy during the previous school year are chosen.

Therapy Specifics

  • Speech therapy is offered for children who may have Apraxia of Speech and/or sensory integration disorders and a speech/language delay

  • Group therapy is offered for motor sensory work utilizing sensory integration principles

  • Individual therapy is also offered in 30 minute sessions, two times per week. The Summer Speech program runs for six weeks throughout the summer.
